Announcing a new project!

Currently, in CSMM I have a Global Ban List. It's good, functional but there's one big problem with it. It's only for CSMM. Other mods/server managers cannot take advantage of the data that is collected.
So I was thinking, it would be nice to have an open source application licensed under the GPL with a public API so that everyone can share information.

This project will be separate from CSMM so I created a new discord server for it - https://discord.gg/eh4h2uF

If you'd like to follow the project, be sure to join that server. We can use some people to help us. Be it by submitting code, translations or even just ideas :).

CSMM has been updated with more options for roles

Please note that the old admins system is deprecated and will not work anymore. You must migrate to the new roles system if you want your admins to have access to csmm

Let me know if there is any issues with this update, I had to rip out and replace a lot of core code for this.

I never thought this project would grow to what it is now. It started from a crappy Discord bot into a fully featured server manager.

EDIT: the csmm server host is doing power maintenance right now, could be the cause...
EDIT2: I've put a temporary bandaid on it, will hopefully drag CSMM through until issues from the maintenance are over. Might be a bit slower for now

Hey guys, some of you reported CSMM being really slow last night. After reviewing the logs, it's filled with connection errors (to servers, to discord, to everywhere) so I'm blaming the maintenance done by our host ^^ It should be all good to go now

Hello there, would you please vote on how we should handle suggestions for csmm? Each of these options has pros and cons but I'd like to know what system you would actually use and be most useful

Discord text channel -Very cluttered, but also the most accessible

Discord bot - Went wrong already, no good discussion possible

Forums - Need to host it but is the coolest of em all :P Not sure if the scale of this is warranted.

Github issues - Has alot of functionality, is free. Can get labels, priorities etcetc good for devs

CSMM update @everyone

CSMM roles can be linked to discord roles now! To configure these, configure a discord role by clicking the edit button on one of your CSMM roles. Whenever a role check is executed (player uses a custom command, sets a tele, ...) CSMM will check what role the player has on discord and adjust the players role on CSMM accordingly. This will hopefully make 'mass importing' of your servers hierarchy less of a pain.

Players will need to link their Discord profile to CSMM for this to work. see https://confluence.catalysm.net/display/CSM/Link+discord+profile+to+CSMM for more info on that.

the $who ingame command can now be disabled from your server settings

@here CSMM is slow again, I'm testing a patch (fix) for it now

MOTD can now only send messages to players on connect. For timed messages, use the cron jobs/ server automation module instead!

I've put a temporary bandaid on the problem. I'm still monitoring the situation and looking for a permanent solution. CSMM should be back to usable now

Google cloud platform is having major issues. Affecting alot of stuff (including discord so not sure if this message will even get to anyone)

It's not good enough yet :( I've had to disable location and inventory tracking for tonight untill I can do a proper fix. I'm sorry guys, i'll try and get it back up by tomorrow

Hey guys, I just did a patch to tracking to speed CSMM up, by my rough calculations it's about 23% faster now ^^ There's more room for improvement though, so I'll continue working on this

Alright, I asked nicely and it stopped!

J/k, discord is having trouble with their websocket connections. It will cause all discord bots to behave weirdly.

The CSMM restart notification is going haywire. I've no clue why, CSMM only sends it once (note the time of the notification is the same for each message).

As you know, CSMM has been plagued by performance issues. The culprit was inventory tracking.

In simple terms, CSMM had to load the inventory of every player separately. When servers had alot of players online, this caused the whole thing to slow down having to wait for response from every API call.

I asked Alloc if he could support loading all inventories at once and @User 36612002 came in like superman and coded it!

This is scheduled for release with next Allocs Fixes version but you can already install it.

To install, drop the Allocs_WebAndMapRendering folder in your Mods/ folder. Make a backup if you want to be safe.

Updated CSMM Global ban list

You can now set a discord notification when a player with more than x amount of bans on the GBL
You can also let players with more than x bans get autobanned now

I know about the performance issues, i'm looking into it. Restarting csmm doesnt help anymore :(
