If you re on Windows using volume shadow copy is the way to go on a running server

I only do backups when the server is shut down though on my server. But from what I understand you can setup a cronjob that does a /pause;/backup;/unpause that will pause the server region files from writing to it back it up and then continue with what was put in queue... Never tested it though

But to answer your question. No it's not safe

I personally never had issues using backups

Depends hows you do the backup. Some mods use the actual main thread to do this which is stupid. Doing this will cause massive server lag and at times a restart is required to get it back to normal

Using other methods which do not involve the game have a much lower risk but it's still a bit risky copying while another application is writing

No, limit changes is the difference between plans. The permissions system is the same between all of them

I uploaded my new server yesterday with the 7D 2.0 update.

But none of the SERVER AUTOMATION commands are working, even when I click RUN NOW.

Have you had a look at what mods you're running?
